# “This would be stupid” – Arsenal fans not keen on Malen return

Arsenal have [expressed an interest](https://readarsenal.com/2019/09/22/arsenal-showing-interest-in-malen-do-they-need-him/) in former striker Donyell Malen in recent days.

Reports claim that the Gunners, along with several other European giants, one of which are Liverpool, have all enquired about the 20-year-old, who currently plies his trade with PSV Eindhoven.

Arsenal sold Malen to the Dutch giants for just £500,000 two years ago, with PSV now valuing the forward at £50 million.

The Netherlands international has already scored 11 times in all competitions this season, including five in PSV’s win over Vitesse earlier this month, however, these Arsenal fans aren’t keen on the idea of the Gunners bringing the forward back to north London.

### Read Arsenal verdict

Arsenal look set to be willing to splash the cash again in January, however, Malen shouldn’t be on their list of priorities.

The youngster, who made just two pre-season appearances under Arsene Wenger, will more than likely become a European star, however, right now, the gunners need to fix their defensive woes.

David Luiz and Sokratis have both struggled in recent weeks, so spending big on a defensive star would be more beneficial than bringing Malen back to the Emirates.
