After claiming a handsome win in Frankfurt, Arsenal will be aiming to return to winning ways in the league when they face Aston Villa at the Emirates in a Sunday afternoon kick-off.
Unai Emery’s men are on a run of three winless games in the league after making a good start.
Even though it is very early into the season, the Gunners need to win on Sunday to keep themselves on track for a top-four finish.
They are up against a Villa side, who have struggled to score goals so far this season and might struggle on Sunday too.
In terms of team news, Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney played an hour of football in the U-23 level and are not far behind in terms of getting back to first-team training.
Alexandre Lacazette’s recurring ankle injury will keep him out until October.
Here’s how we think Emery may line his team up for the game against the Villans:
GK - Bernd Leno
He is Arsenal’s number one goalkeeper at the moment and should be in goal against Aston Villa.
RB - Ainsley Maitland-Niles
With Bellerin nearing a return, young Maitland-Niles may not get a lot of opportunities to prove his worth. He must do well on Sunday.
CB - Sokratis
After getting a rest for the Frankfurt game, Sokratis should be back in the XI for this game.
CB - David Luiz
Luiz hasn’t looked very convincing so far. However, Emery may continue with him at the back because Rob Holding could take another week to get back to full fitness.
LB - Sead Kolasinac
With Tierney still a bit away from first-team action, Kolasinac is certain to continue starting at left-back.
CM - Granit Xhaka
Xhaka had a good game on Thursday in midfield. Arsenal fans would be hoping for him to continue that form against Aston Villa.
CM - Matteo Guendouzi
The youngster was an unused sub against Frankfurt. He should be back in the XI on Sunday.
RW - Nicolas Pepe
Pepe came off the bench on Thursday and looked very sharp. He is in line to start on the right wing against Villa.
CAM - Mesut Ozil
Ozil was rested for the game against Frankfurt. He should come straight back into the XI on Sunday.
LW - Reiss Nelson
The youngster was an unused sub on Thursday. He may get another chance from the start with Lacazette injured.
ST - Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Aubameyang has been in top form so far. He would be aiming to build on that against Aston Villa.
