# Arsenal fans praise Xhaka and Mustafi following Frankfurt performance

It’s fair to say, that when Arsenal released their team news for the Europa League clash against Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday, the majority of Gunners supporters were worried to see two names on the teamsheet.

Granit Xhaka and Shkodran Mustafi have both received plenty of criticism in recent months, however, the duo put in solid performances in the Gunners’ 3-0 win over the Bundesliga side.

Goals from Joe Willock, Bukayo Saka and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sealed an impressive European win for Unai Emery’s side, who now face Aston Villa this Sunday.

### Read Arsenal verdict

It’s clear to see that Arsenal needed that result and performance. The pressure was starting to mount on Emery and his side, so three goals, a clean sheet and Mustafi and Xhaka impressing was the perfect scenario for the Gunners.

Youngsters Saka, Willock and Emile Smith Rowe also starred, while second-choice goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez also staked his claim for a regular role with a solid display.

It couldn’t have gone much better on Thursday in all honesty, and Emery will now be hoping to build on this against Aston Villa on the weekend.
