Fraser to be offered bumper deal – should Arsenal stay in the race to sign him?

Ryan Fraser is set to be offered a bumper new Bournemouth contract, as the Cherries look to ward off interest from Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton and Wolves.

According to 90min.com, the player is a target for a host of Premier League clubs, but Eddie Howe’s side are ready to break the bank to try and keep him.

The player is out of contract next summer and could be available for nothing if he continues to avoid signing a new deal, so should the Gunners step up their interest?

Fraser established himself as one of the league’s most creative players last season, with only Eden Hazard (15) assisting more goals.

While signing a new deal doesn’t completely rule out the possibilty of Arsenal renewing their interest, you’d imagine that given the amount of money that would be required to lure him away from Bournemouth, a deal would be considered unlikely.

The Scottish winger has seen his contract saga roll on for some time now and it will only intensify in the coming months if he refuses to sign a new deal.

This would be a stunning piece of business if the Gunners could land him on a free transfer.

Given the level of interest that appears to be rising in the player, he could have his pick of some of the top teams in the league, a factor that may make a free transfer more appealing.

When you look at how much money Crystal Palace were demanding for Wilfried Zaha and the amount the Gunners were forced to spend on Nicolas Pepe, it could be a very shrewd move to keep a close eye on Fraser’s future.
