Arsenal fans react after learning staggering squad cost

Arsenal have been known for their limited spending over the last 15 years, however, over the previous few seasons, the Gunners have splashed the cash.

Nicolas Pepe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette have all made the move to the Emirates in the last three years and are now the three most expensive signings in the club’s history, costing a combined £176 million.

And now, @AFTVMedia have shared the 10 sides across Europe who have spent the most on their current squads, with the Gunners coming 10th.

If Arsenal didn’t cough up £72 million for Pepe over the summer, then they wouldn’t have been in the top 10.

But as one fan rightly mentioned, Unai Emery shouldn’t have any excuses on breaking back into the top four this season.

Even though there have been four Premier League sides who have spent more than the Gunners on their current sides, the Spaniard has one of the best attacks in the league and has also added to his defensive and midfield ranks over the summer.

Initial signs have been fairly positive for the Gunners, and a good run after the international break will help ease supporters fears of missing out on the Champions League once again this season.
