Aubameyang discussing Real move with Ceballos – should fans be worried?

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has reportedly been asking Dani Ceballos about life in Madrid amid rumours of a potential move to Spain for the striker.

According to reports from Spanish outlet Defensa Central, as cited by the Express, the striker ‘still holds hope of playing for Real Madrid’.

Aubameyang has been linked with moves away from the club in recent months amid concerns that they may need to sell before they can buy, so should fans be worried by these latest rumours?

Aubameyang is due to turn 31 next year and with that in mind, a move to Real Madrid would seem unlikely.

They have only recently invested heavily in Luka Jovic, who has been earmarked to become the long-term replacement for Karim Benzema at the Bernabeu.

The Gabon forward is not someone who would be sold on the cheap and investing so much in an ageing striker is not something that would necessarily be smart business from Real.

You would be doing Aubameyang a disservice to say his game relies on pace, but it’s something both Arsenal and other potential suitors will have to factor in as he approaches the end of what many will consider his ‘peak years’.

When you look at what stage of his career Aubameyang is in and the current state of the squad in Madrid, it would seem that the ship has sailed for the striker on his dream move.
