# Arsenal fans respond to Arsene Wenger’s Jadon Sancho transfer claim

It feels like former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger ‘almost’ signed every star over the past 20 years during his 22-years stint in charge of the Gunners.

And the Frenchman has now revealed he nearly brought Jadon Sancho to the Emirates when he left Manchester City.

Now a Borussia Dortmund star, Sancho scored his first goals for England on Tuesday night in the 5-3 win over Kosovo.

And talking to the media about Sancho, cited by [@GrujitAFC](https://twitter.com/GurjitAFC/status/1171541087372140544), Wenger revealed he attempted to bring the winger to North London from Manchester.

> I wanted to take him from Man City when he didn’t get the games. I tried to lure him because he’s from London. I tried to get him to Arsenal.

> He’s one of the best players of his generation. He can dribble, he has the arrogance.

However, these Arsenal fans weren’t having the Frenchman’s claims and quickly took to social media to hit back at the former Arsenal manager.

> Twitter: @GurjitAFC Honestly I am tired of reading about this man telling us who he almost signed. He and Gazidis ruined us… https://t.co/kS3pA53OyF (@offiong187)

> Twitter: @GurjitAFC At this rate Wenger almost signed the Pep Guardiola (@SeerWhoSaw)

### Read Arsenal verdict

Wenger has now admitted he’s nearly signed Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and now Sancho in the past few weeks, and the news isn’t going down well with Arsenal supporters.

All three potential arrivals were early in their respective careers and could have turned out to be major signings by the Frenchman.

There have also been claims that the 69-year-old could return to the Emirates in the future in a role higher up the Emirates ladder, and following these comments, Gunners supporters will be hoping that, if he does, he’s not in charge of transfers.
