Arsenal fans react to Arsene Wenger’s proposed FIFA role

Arsene Wenger has been a pundit over the last 12 months, but it now appears as if he is set to return to football in an exciting new role.

The 69-year-old, who ended his 22-year association with the Gunners last May, will accept a role with FIFA in the coming days, which will see him become a technical head with the organisation.

That’s according to the New York Times, cited by @afcstuff, who claim that the Arsenal legend will be involved in suggesting improvements to coaching standards across the world and looking at other ways that could influence how the game is played.

And these Arsenal fans were quick to respond to the news on social media, with some praising the Frenchman while some were relieved that he won’t be making an Emirates return.

It’s good to see Wenger making a return to the game, but this move seems strange after he recently revealed his wish to return to management.

The Frenchman may not return to the dugout to take charge of aside again after all, but he could definitely make a return to the Emirates following his stint with FIFA.

Wenger has been tipped to come in as a director with the Gunners in the future, so his time with FIFA will help him get to grips with what a senior role away from the bench will contain.
