# Arsenal fans aren’t having these surprise positive Xhaka statistics

Granit Xhaka has been the hot topic amongst Arsenal fans after the 2-2 North London derby draw with Tottenham before the international break.

The midfielder gave away a penalty after a needless challenge on Heung-Min Son, which allowed Harry Kane to double Spurs’ advantage in the first half.

Luckily for Xhaka, goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang earned the Gunners a point against their rivals.

Many have now called for the Swiss star to be dropped from Unai Emery’s side, and after picking up a knock on international duty, he looks likely to be left out of the side this weekend.

Despite plenty of criticism from plenty of Arsenal supporters, [@WozAfc](https://twitter.com/WozAfc/status/1171820527805239296) shared some surprising positive stats on the 26-year-old.

Since his Gunners debut, Xhaka has topped Arsenal’s successful tackles and successful passes into the final third rankings and is third behind Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez in chances created.

However, with the Swiss star also topping the most fouls, bookings, dribbled past and tackles lost charts, these Gunners fans were quick to hit out at the midfielder.

### Read Arsenal verdict

Even though Xhaka has been way off the pace over the last six months, it feels that if anything goes wrong, it is automatically his fault.

Time out of Emery’s side over the next few weeks could actually turn out to be a blessing in disguise for the holding midfielder.

It will keep him out of the firing line for the time being, and if Arsenal can go on a winning run starting against Watford this weekend, Xhaka could then be eased back into the matchday squad when he returns from injury.
