# “Big boost for us” – Arsenal fans are loving Granit Xhaka’s break plan

It’s fair to say that Granit Xhaka hasn’t enjoyed the best of starts to the new season.

The 26-year-old has featured in three of the first four Premier League games, with his latest performances against Liverpool and Tottenham coming in for plenty of criticism from fans and pundits.

Xhaka, who recently represented Switzerland against Ireland and Gibraltar, has admitted that he now plans to take a break from football next month, with his wife set to give birth to their first child, as reported by [@afcstuff](https://twitter.com/afcstuff/status/1170764368981766144).

And these Arsenal fans were quick to reply to the news, with many sarcastically telling the midfielder to take the whole season off.

### Read Arsenal verdict

Of course, these comments are mainly sarcastic, but it looks like the midfielder will indeed be absent when the next international break comes around next month.

Unai Emery will selfishly be hoping that the birth does fall in the international break, which could see the Swiss star miss a short period of time with the Gunners instead of a two-week domestic absence.

It’s certainly a situation many fans will keep a close eye on over the coming weeks, and it’s good to see that both the club and the player are working closely together in regards to the player’s personal situations.
