Arsenal fans give their verdict on where things went wrong for Mkhitaryan

As Henrikh Mkhitaryan leaves Arsenal for Roma, supporters have been left wondering where exactly things went wrong for the player.

The Armenian arrived at the club with a lot of promise from Manchester United, as part of the deal that saw Alexis Sanchez move to Old Trafford.

It was a move that looked like it suited both parties on paper, but in truth, neither club benefitted from the deal, with Sanchez now with Inter in Serie A.

After a tweet from @ltarsenal, there was an interesting debate among these fans on social media, who all gave their verdict on his downfall at the Emirates.

Read Arsenal verdict

Confidence is a word that kept cropping up when reading some of the reactions about his time at Arsenal.

These fans seem pretty confident that there is a player there, but one that needs to be backed and feeling at his best before he can show what he is really capable of.

It’s hard to say whether or not Mkhitaryan wanted the Arsenal move in the first place and being thrust into a swap deal could have been a huge blow to his confidence.

He now has a chance to regain some of that confidence and form in Italy, with Arsenal fans keeping a watchful eye.
