Bent heaps praise on Guendouzi – how far can he go?

Former Tottenham striker Darren Bent has claimed that Matteo Guendouzi could be in the Arsenal midfield for the next 10 years.

Bent has heaped praise on the French central midfielder, claiming that he is very good in his role.

Speaking to Football Insider, Bent said this:

He’s playing like he’s someone who’s played for Arsenal for years. It’s scary that he’s only 20, he could be in the Arsenal midfield for the next 10 years, he’s really good in that role.

Even when he gives the ball away, he wants the ball all the time. He never shies away from that and that is a trait in a midfielder that you can’t teach, you can’t teach that.

Just how far can Guendouzi go in his career?

He was exceptional in the derby draw with Tottenham last weekend, which shows that he can influence games against other sides in the top six. This is a vital attribute needed for a world-class midfielder, meaning that it is a good sign that Guendouzi is already capable of affecting games at that level at the age of 20.

At this moment in time, he still has plenty to prove and needs to add more consistency to his game. Helping Arsenal reach the top four this season would be a massive achievement for both himself and the club, whilst making his debut for France at senior level may also be a goal for the midfielder – having recently earned his first call-up. The sky is the limit for Guendouzi.
