It has been revealed that Arsenal inserted a buy-back clause into Kelechi Nwakali’s move to Huesca over the summer.
According to Football London, The Gunners allowed Nwakali to go and sign a permanent deal with the Spanish club, but made sure that they had an option to bring him back at any point over the next three years.

It seems unlikely that Arsenal will exercise their option to bring him back unless he makes significant strides in his progress as a footballer in that time.

At the age of 21, Arsenal did not see enough in him to loan him out and decided to sell him – which is a red flag. The buy-back clause may just be a safety net in case whoever made the decision over his future is wrong and he does go on to be an excellent footballer.
The Nigerian international spent last season on loan to Porto B, failing to score in 16 appearances for the Portuguese side. He will now be hoping to impress with Huesca and prove to Arsenal that he is good enough for the Premier League.
