Ceballos’ future hinges on Zidane – why the Gunners could complete a deal

Dani Ceballos has been a real hit during his short stint at the Emirates, and it’s easy to see why Real Madrid refused to the Gunners’ option-to-buy clause next summer.

The 23-year-old, who has made four competitive appearances in the Premier League, recently caught the eye with his piece of individual brilliance for Spain, with his exquisite through ball leading to Paco Alcacer’s goal against Romania.

Ceballos’ form in recent months for club and country has now led to many Arsenal fans urging the Gunners to launch an ambitious permanent move for the midfielder next summer.

And according to football.london, cited by talkSPORT, Madrid may well reconsider their stance on the player’s future if Zinedine Zidane leaves the Bernabeu over the course of the current campaign.

After the recent reports, the majority of Arsenal supporters will now be keeping a close eye on Zidane’s second stint with Madrid, hoping the Frenchman leaves before the end of the season.

Many were expecting Zidane’s return to the Bernabeu to spark an instant impact in terms of results, however, Madrid have already drawn two of their first three La Liga games.

If their shaky form continues and Zidane and the Real Madrid board fail to see eye to eye in the coming months, there may well be an outside chance of the Gunners successfully completing a shock deal for Ceballos.
