# Fraser prepared to run down Bournemouth contract – should Arsenal sign him on a free?

Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool were all thought to be extremely keen on signing Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser over the summer, but a move for the Scot never materialised and he remained with the Cherries.

The Gunners instead splashed the cash on Nicolas Pepe from Lille, and he’s settled into Premier League with ease.

Many have still tipped Fraser to seal a move away from the south coast over the next 12 months, especially considering he is in the final year of his current Bournemouth deal.

And according to [The Athletic, cited by the Daily Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1174583/Arsenal-transfer-news-Ryan-Fraser-contract-Bournemouth), the dynamic winger is willing to turn down a new Cherries offer and run down his contract at the Vitality Stadium, making him a free transfer next summer.

So should Unai Emery be keeping a close eye on Fraser’s situation ahead of a potential free transfer next summer?

We personally think he should be. Fraser has a prolific assist record over the past 18 months and has become a vital figure in Eddie Howe’s exciting side, so securing his services on a free transfer would be an excellent piece of business.

He’s still just 25 years old and could make the switch to north London in his prime.

Fraser could find it difficult to nail down a starting spot under Emery if he decided to move to the Emirates, but there’s no doubting Arsenal’s squad depth would significantly increase with the arrival of Fraser.
