Cesc Fabregas spent eight years with Arsenal before controversially leaving the club in 2011 for Barcelona.
During that time, the creative midfielder was a real Arsenal favourite, winning one FA Cup and one Community Shield with the club in his 212 appearances.
However, it appears as if the former Gunners star could have left for Spain much earlier into his time in London.

@AFTVMedia have recently shared these quotes from the midfielder, who claimed he turned down a ‘big salary’ at Real Madrid at the age of 18 to stay with Arsenal when he was a teenager.
I was 18 and they [Real Madrid] offered me a big salary, but I felt like I belonged at Arsenal. Arsene Wenger had bet the farm on me. I couldn’t leave.
However, these Arsenal fans didn’t take to Fabregas’ comments that well.
@YusufZufer: So instead I left for Barca.
@FizanKhan1: Then you snaked us Cesc.
@jonocrofts: And later joined our rivals Chelsea later down line. Very nice of you buddy.
@josephmalachy: As soon as Barca came calling he demanded to leave.
@GrahameNola_: But you did leave… Fool.

The majority of Arsenal fans still haven’t got over Fabregas’ Emirates exit and his move to Chelsea in 2014 didn’t help his case of making up with the Gunners faithful.
These recent quotes haven’t gone down well with plenty of Arsenal fans, and it’s easy to see why.
He’s made himself out to be a Gunners hero by staying put during the early stages of his career, but really, he probably stayed with the club as he had more chance of breaking into Arsene Wenger’s first-team plans than Real Madrid’s.
