The Europa League has long been a competition where Premier League managers have looked to bring in some of their younger stars.

Lopez could be the next name to break through at Arsenal. Having come through the ranks at Barcelona’s La Masia, the defender is highly rated.

With Nacho Monreal leaving the club and Sead Kolasinac’s future always seeming to be up in the air, there could be an opening for him in the first-team squad over the coming years.

Game time in the Europa League will give the defender some great exposure to the first-team squad and potentially something to build on going forward.
