If Arsenal’s start to the season has told us anything, it’s that Kieran Tierney will be a huge addition to the current backline once he’s fully fit.
With Unai Emery insisting on playing out from the back, there has been a big onus on the full-backs pushing on and providing support in the final third.
As both Nicolas Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang tend to sit a little narrower, both Sead Kolasinac and Ainsley Maitland-Niles have been afforded plenty of room to attack.
Kolasinac has been a useful weapon for Emery to use, with his excellent delivery but physically he does not have the pace that Tierney will be able to offer.
That added speed down the left could see the Scot and Aubameyang develop a very useful partnership.
Arsenal fans have been forced to be patient with Tierney and Hector Bellerin both sidelined, but the prospect of the two of them marauding up and down the flanks is a promising one for the Gunners.
