Ian Wright has become the latest in a growing list of critics to call out Granit Xhaka for his performance against Tottenham.
The Swiss midfielder gave away a penalty in the first half that allowed the visitors to secure a two-goal lead.
Beyond that, Xhaka was below-par throughout the game and continued to anger fans with his performance.
Speaking about Xhaka on Radio 5 live, as cited on social media by @afcstuff, Wright said:
He shouldn’t be named captain, he should focus on his own game. The captaincy & responsibility that comes with that, he makes the mistakes that, if I’m on the pitch & Tony Adams is on the pitch making mistakes like that, I’m thinking, ‘What are you doing?’
If these reactions online are anything to go by, a lot of Arsenal fans appear to agree with the club’s former striker.

Xhaka has divided opinions among supporters for some time now, but it appears that his performance during the North London derby was the tipping point for a lot of fans.
The midfield conundrum has been Emery’s biggest selection headache this season but the performance of Xhaka against Spurs may have made his mind up for him.
As a club captain, fans have every right be asking questions of Xhaka’s performance and general decision making in what was one of the club’s biggest games of the entire season.
He showed no signs of his ability to sniff out danger and his reactionary defending gifted Spurs their second goal. It was by no means a captain’s performance in a game where the Gunners needed someone with true leadership qualities.
