Fabian Delph ended his four-year association with Manchester City in the summer by joining Everton in an initial deal worth £8.5 million.
The 29-year-old, who struggled for regular game time under Pep Guardiola, made his first Premier League appearance for the Toffees on the weekend and impressed as Marco Silva’s side beat Wolves 3-2.

Former Arsenal man Paul Merson has recently shared his views on the England international, admitting that the Gunners should have moved for the energetic midfielder over the summer.
Merson, talking to Sky Sports’ the Debate, cited by football.london, said:
I look at him [Delph] and wonder why Arsenal didn’t sign him.
He is better than the midfield three that played against Tottenham.
He could have played at left-back instead of Kolasinac on Sunday.
And these Arsenal fans were quick to respond to Merson’s comments, with some for and against the suggestion.
Did he not watch guendouzi?

Read Arsenal verdict
It may have proven to be a shrewd signing by the Gunners, but it’s not one Arsenal officials should lose sleep over.
As one fan mentioned, Delph could’ve been a great squad player for Unai Emery this season, but he doesn’t possess the great quality as suggested by Merson.
Matteo Guendouzi, Lucas Torreira and even Granit Xhaka, are all arguably better than Delph, who turns 30 in November.
The England international will now probably enjoy a man of the match performance against the Gunners when the two sides meet in December after our comments.
