One of Unai Emery’s biggest problems over the summer was sorting out Arsenal’s defensive issues.
The Spaniard brought in highly-rated teenager William Saliba early on in the summer, before loaning him back to Saint Etienne.
Emery also landed two deadline day defender deals, with David Luiz joining from Chelsea and Kieran Tierney from Celtic.
Luiz has been a regular alongside Sokratis at the heart of the Gunners’ defence in the past three fixtures, however, the duo are yet to keep a clean sheet together.
Arsenal’s only shut out of the season so far came in the opening weekend win against Newcastle United.

Sokratis was partnered by Callum Chambers on Tyneside that day, and many have now called for the 24-year-old to return to the starting line up following the international break.
Another central defender returning to action is Rob Holding. The 23-year-old suffered a serious knee injury against Manchester United last December, but has featured in the Gunners’ Under-23 side in recent weeks.
And these Arsenal fans were quick to call for Chambers and Holding to start alongside each other in the future.

The English duo should certainly be given the chance to impress as a pair following the international break, especially with Sokratis and Luiz not doing themselves any favours in the games against Liverpool and Tottenham.
In truth, Chambers shouldn’t have been dropped for Luiz following his impressive display against Newcastle.
Holding is also highly thought of at the Emirates, and as one fan mentioned, Chambers and Holding, along with French teenager Saliba, are the future.
Of course, the club could strengthen their options at centre-back in the upcoming windows, but for now, we think Chambers and Holding, when fully fit, should be handed the opportunity to nail down a starting role under Emery and help tighten up the Gunners’ backline.
