Alexandre Lacazette’s strike just before the break against Tottenham on Sunday proved to be crucial.
The Frenchman’s excellent close control followed by a powerful finish past fellow countryman Hugo Lloris halved the deficit on the stroke of half time, with Unai Emery’s side taking their momentum into the second half.

Unfortunately for Arsenal and Lacazette, he had to be replaced by Henrikh Mkhitaryan due to a hamstring injury shortly before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang brought the scores level.
However, football.london reporter James Benge has since provided good news regarding the injury, revealing that after further tests, the 28-year-old was just suffering from cramp.
And these Arsenal fans were quick to share their relief at the news.

Lacazette’s substitution seemed bizarre. Even though the forward signalled to the bench to be replaced, he then, as one fan mentioned, made a lung-busting defensive run in an attempt to win the ball back for the Gunners.
A more detailed examination on the pitch could have benefitted Emery’s side for the remaining 25 minutes. Instead, the Spaniard brought on Mkhitaryan, who failed to make an impact on what could be his last appearance in an Arsenal shirt.
It’s obviously good news that, after initial fears, it’s just cramp, however, the decision to replace the influential Frenchman without a real in-depth examination was a strange one.
