# Arsenal fans disappointed after hearing specific clause in Mkhitaryan’s Roma deal

Henrikh Mkhitaryan completed a season-long loan deal to AS Roma on deadline day, much to the delight of several Arsenal fans.

The 30-year-old, who came on for Alexandre Lacazette in the North London derby on Sunday, could well end up making the move to Italy on a permanent basis.

According to [The Times](https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/arsenal-save-45m-after-henrikh-mkhitaryan-leaves-on-loan-to-roma-hm08fw3cj), Roma will have an obligation to sign the Armenian on a full-time basis if he makes 25 appearances for them this season.

And these Arsenal fans quickly took to social media to share their frustration at the news, with many claiming the wide man will turn out 24 times before returning to the Emirates next summer.

### Read Arsenal verdict

Even though the Gunners got the better end of the deal involving Mkhitaryan and Alexis Sanchez 19 months ago, Arsenal fans have grown extremely frustrated with the player over the past six months.

The 30-year-old, who earns £180,000-a-week on his current Gunners deal, appears to have reached the end of his Arsenal career, so a loan to Serie A will be best for all involved.

The player will get the chance to establish himself as a first-team regular once again, while Emery will now hand youngsters Reiss Nelson, Emile Smith-Rowe and Bukayo Saka more senior opportunities as a result of Mkhitaryan’s departure.

All Gunners fans will now be chalking off each Roma appearance by Mkhitaryan, praying that he eclipses 25 before the end of the season.
