Fans react as Harry Kane says he didn’t dive against Arsenal

With Sunday’s North London Derby tied at 2-2 and with just minutes left on the clock, Tottenham striker Harry Kane went down in the penalty area after a battle for the ball with Arsenal defender Sokratis.

However, referee Martin Atkinson didn’t give Spurs a late penalty and when viewing the incident via replay, it appeared that Kane had dived in an attempt to get Tottenham a  penalty.

However, the England striker denied diving and told the Telegraph:

The defender made a tired tackle. On the halfway [line] I think I would get that foul. The ref probably thinks I am looking for it. It is 50-50, I could get it in some games. In the box you don’t always get them. He’s come through the back of me.

However, these fans took to social media to poke fun at Kane’s actions and comments.

Harry Kane, in our view, dived. Simple really. He tried to con the referee into awarding a penalty.

He may act like he’s done nothing wrong but Kane, in our opinion, will know that he went down far too easily and that he was very fortunate not to be booked for simulation.
