# Arsenal fans excited as Umtiti watches Spurs clash

Samuel Umtiti has teased Arsenal supporters by posting a picture of himself in attendance at Sunday’s North London derby against Tottenham.

Pictures have been circulating across social media of the defender taking in the game and it’s fair to say that it has a lot of fans thinking about what could be for the January window.

Umtiti was [heavily linked](https://readarsenal.com/2019/07/05/barcelona-name-price-for-arsenal-target-umtiti-should-the-gunners-make-a-move/) with a move to Arsenal during the summer after falling out of favour at Barcelona. No move came to fruition, but his future could well be addressed again in January if regular football isn’t in the offing.

Judging by these reactions on social media, it’s a move a lot of fans want to see happen.

While there’s no suggestion that this means anything transfer related from Umtiti, Arsenal fans will be excited to see him in attendance none the less.

With the two North London sides combined boasting a strong French connection, there’s every chance he was just watching some of his international team-mates in action.

Even if that was the case, it certainly won’t harm Arsenal to have a potential transfer target get a taste of the stadium and what the place can be like at its best.

Umtiti could revaluate his future in the new year if a place in the France squad is under threat, so he’s a player to keep a close eye on in months to come.
