Nacho Monreal will leave Arsenal following the North London derby clash against Tottenham.
That’s according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, cited by Sports Witness, who claim that the Gunners have agreed a deal with La Liga side Real Sociedad for the 33-year-old’s services.
The report goes onto add that Unai Emery has requested for the left-back to stay with the squad for this weekend’s clash against Spurs before completing a deal back to his native country.

Monreal will reportedly sign a two-year deal with Sociedad, but is it a smart move by the Gunners?

We think the decision could well backfire on the club over the coming months.
Monreal hasn’t missed a minute in Arsenal’s three Premier League games so far, showing plenty of experience in Emery’s back four.
Meanwhile, fellow left-back Sead Kolasinac has struggled for form over the past six months, and with new signing Kieran Tierney still sidelined through injury until the end of September, Monreal’s presence could be missed.
Tierney will take a few months to get up to speed in the Premier League, and Monreal’s six years of experience in the top-flight could have been handy in helping the Scot adjust.
However, it seems as if the Gunners have now made their decision, leaving Kolasinac to fill in over the next four weeks before Tierney can make his long-awaited Arsenal debut.
