# Arsenal fans joke at Bendtner return after reminiscing Standard Liege strike

Nicklas Bendtner spent 10 years with Arsenal and became a real fan favourite towards the end of his Gunners career.

The forward, who now plies his trade with Norwegian side Rosenborg, netted 24 times for the Gunners in over 100 appearances.

Arsenal fans, who often referred to him as ‘Lord Bendtner’, were reminded of his goalscoring abilities on the [club’s official Twitter page](https://twitter.com/Arsenal/status/1167418751857385472) on Friday.

After being drawn against Standard Liege in the Europa League group stages, Arsenal posted a video from their last visit to the Belgian giants, a game in which Bendtner scored.

The Gunners came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 in the Champions League group stages 10 years ago.

And these Arsenal fans were quick to call for the Gunners to bring back their former striker.

Of course, Arsenal won’t be bringing Bendtner back anytime soon, but it’s great to see the club’s official Twitter page paying tribute to their former striker.

His popularity skyrocketed towards the end of his Arsenal career, with the rise of social media also playing a big role in the Dane’s ‘Lord’ nickname.

Bendtner may well return to the Emirates Stadium in the future for a one-off appearance, and if he does, he’ll certainly receive a great ovation from the Arsenal faithful.
