# Arsenal fans despair as Lacazette misses out on French call-up

A number of Arsenal fans have been left wondering exactly what Alexandre Lacazette needs to do in order to be named in the French national team.

The striker was left out of Didier Deschamps’ side as the latest squads were revealed ahead of the upcoming international fixtures.

Lacazette has scored one Premier League goal already this season in two appearances, but that was not deemed enough to earn a call-up this time around.

Several Arsenal fans have been venting their frustration on social media following the announcement.

> Twitter: @GFFN When’s lacazette getting called up. I think deschamps has something against him… (@unknown\_en10)

> Twitter: @GFFN What the hell!!!?? No Lacazette? Smh yet Giroud keeps making the team (@\_ElMarlo\_)

### Read Arsenal verdict

Deschamps is clearly a manager who knows what he likes and has proven time and time again that he is not afraid to make big calls.

You only have to look at how long he refused to call up Aymeric Laporte to see how difficult it can be to break into the French side.

Lacazette can certainly feel hard done by after a reasonable start to the campaign with Arsenal.

There had been some [suggestions](https://twitter.com/JamesOlley/status/1167059520612380675?s=20) of a potential knock, which could go some way to explaining the decision. If that is the case, it could benefit Arsenal, who will want the player rested and back up to speed as soon as possible.
