# Arsenal fans delighted following fresh updates on Bellerin and Tierney

Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney both appear to be edging closer to a return to full training.

The pair were both scheduled to be back in October, however, the club revealed on their [official website](https://www.arsenal.com/news/team-news-good-news-bellerin-tierney-dinos) on Thursday morning that the duo are now expected to return to training next month.

Bellerin has been out of action since January with a knee problem, while new signing Tierney underwent a double hernia operation over the summer.

### Read Arsenal verdict

The good progress regarding the pair comes as a welcome surprise to all associated with the club.

Unai Emery will more than likely make the duo his first-choice full-backs when they are fully fit, with Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Nacho Monreal occupying the roles during the early stages of the campaign.

Tierney joined from Celtic in a deal worth £25 million on deadline day, and Bellerin’s return will also feel like a new signing following his lengthy absence.

Obviously, no risks will be taken with the defenders, however, as one fan mentioned, if all goes to plan, the duo could find themselves in the starting line up for the Gunners’ trip to Old Trafford at the end of September.
