# Fans can’t help but laugh as Luiz reveals his title ambitions

David Luiz’s Arsenal career may not have got off to the best of starts, but the Brazilian defender has reaffirmed his ambition to win the Premier League with the Gunners.

Joining from Chelsea over the summer, Luiz has never hidden his intentions to bring a winning mentality to the club.

[As reported by the Independent](https://twitter.com/IndyFootball/status/1165586137949396992?s=20), Luiz says he has his eyes on silverware.

> I came here with the ambition to fight for the Premier League title, I want to fight for other competitions also.

The comments have surprised a number of fans on social media and judging by these reactions, Tottenham and Chelsea supporters were particularly pleased.

### Read Arsenal verdict

Luiz’s comments certainly came from a good place and as supporters, that’s exactly the type of attitude that you want to see from a summer signing.

A title challenge will surely be beyond Arsenal this season, but when you look back at the club’s transfer business and the youngsters that they are bringing through, there appears to be a plan in place at the Emirates.

It may not be for two or three years, but the building blocks are there for Arsenal to put together a squad capable of competing at the very top once again.

Whether or not Luiz is part of that remains to be seen, but fans must be patient over the coming years, as the best is yet to come from this Arsenal team.
