# Ozil’s agent rules out summer exit – why it is good news for the Gunners

Mesut Ozil has been heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates this summer.

The playmaker, who reportedly earns around £350,000-a-week in North London, has been with the club since 2013 and has been tipped to leave on a season-long loan, with a number of European parties thought to be tracking the midfielder.

However, the German’s agent, Erkut Sogut, has ruled out a summer exit for the 30-year-old, according to [Turkish Football, cited by talkSPORT](https://talksport.com/football/592931/arsenal-transfer-news-mesut-ozil-agent/).

Despite being in and out of Unai Emery’s side last season, we think it’s great news that the midfielder will remain in London for the current campaign.

Ozil has shown during his time with the club that he can consistently perform at the top level, however, statsically, the playmaker has suffered a dip.

He provided just two assists in 24 appearances last season, along with netting five goals himself, compared to his memorable 2015/16 campaign, where he was involved in 25 goals, scoring six and creating 19.

Of course, Ozil was in his prime back then, and now, with plenty of experience of performing at the top level in England, that know-how will only benefit new playmaker Dani Ceballos throughout the season.

Ozil will also have his part to play across the campaign, and the lack of creativity will place plenty of expectation on the shoulders of Ceballos and Ozil, so the latest news regarding the German is brilliant.
