“Special talent!” – Arsenal fans delighted over Guendouzi contract talks

Arsenal are hoping to extend star midfielder Matteo Guendouzi’s contract over the coming weeks, according to the Daily Mail.

The Frenchman only made the move to the Emirates last summer in a deal worth £7.2 million from Lorient, however, the 20-year-old has made quite the impression.

The report claims that the Gunners are now willing to increase the midfielder’s weekly wage from £40,000 to £70,000 in a new long-term deal.

And these Arsenal fans took to social media to share their delight over the news.

Guendouzi has begun the campaign alongside fellow youngster Joe Willock, and the pair have both put in excellent displays against Newcastle and Burnley.

The Frenchman has shown maturity beyond his years during his 12-month stint at the Emirates and has settled into Premier League life with relative ease.

Unai Emery is clearly a big fan of the player, and Guendouzi has shown that he could become Arsenal’s dominant holding midfielder for the next five years.

Tieing him down to a new long-term deal at £70,000-a-week in today’s market would be a great piece of business by the Gunners, and would continue the feel-good factor on the red side of north London.
