Gunners fans react to news of Aubameyang’s possible new deal

Arsenal appear to be pushing to secure Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future with a lucrative new contract offer.

According to claims from The Telegraph, a proposal is being devised as the Gunners look to reward their star striker with a deal that reflects his importance to the club.

Aubameyang could earn as much as Mesut Ozil if bonuses in this new contract are achieved, such as if Arsenal qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Ozil currently earns £350,000 per week, while the Gabonese forward takes home £200,000. However, Aubameyang could make similar to that of his German teammate in time, with The Telegraph claiming that there is optimism that an agreement will be reached.

It’s safe to say that these Gunners fans think tying up Aubameyang is a smart move…

Aubameyang is arguably Arsenal’s most important player. He has scored two goals in two games and has picked up where he left off last season.

He has been a huge, huge signing for the club. The Gunners spent a lot of money to convince Borussia Dortmund into selling him, but he has been worth every penny.

It is never wholly convincing when an ageing player is rewarded with a new and improved, big-money deal. However, Aubameyang is of such importance to the club that his displays have warranted a significant financial reward.

Keeping him fit, happy and firing will be an objective of Unai Emery’s this season, and if Arsenal are to reach the Champions League, their star striker will be crucial.
