According to French outlet GFFN, new Arsenal defender William Saliba has undergone an operation following an adductor muscle injury.
The report states that the Gunners agreed to the surgery, with the youngster now set to miss six weeks of action with Saint Etienne.
And these Arsenal fans were quick to react to the news on social media.

Although it is extremely frustrating, it’s better the youngster has the surgery now, instead of making the problem worse and being forced out for a longer period further down the line.
The defender will more than likely be back at full fitness in October, meaning he still has a large portion of the season to continue his development with his former side.
Arsenal fans will obviously be hoping this is the only serious injury the Frenchman has in the long run, and a series of impressive displays in his native country could then make him a serious contender to play a key role under Unai Emery next season.
