David Luiz became an Arsenal player on deadline day, completing a shock move from London rivals Chelsea.
The Gunners paid the Blues a fee in the region of £8 million for the Brazilian’s services, with the defender penning a two-year deal at the Emirates.
Arsenal shared the player’s first message to supporters on Friday morning, with the playing revealing his ambition to win big matches and big titles with the club.
Some have hinted at a potential dig at former club Chelsea, with Luiz, talking to the club’s website, saying he had to take the opportunity to join the Gunners.

“I’m here to give everything and to try to make this club arrive where it deserves to arrive – winning big games… https://t.co/7iOt9ocgg1 (@Arsenal)
The message went down a treat with these Arsenal fans, who were quick to praise the experienced defender.

One thing that Luiz will bring to the club is a winning mentality. He is the only member of the Gunners side who has tasted success in the Premier League previously and will bring much-needed know-how in winning big games.
The free-kick specialist has won six major honours during his two spells with Chelsea and has made over 160 Premier League appearances.
At just £8 million in today’s market, a move for the 32-year-old looks a great piece of business. Luiz still has two or three high-quality seasons left in the tank, and despite taking multiple risks on the ball, he will more than likely prove to be an excellent addition by Unai Emery.
