Arsenal fans urge club to sell Mustafi and Elneny to fund future Upamecano move

Arsenal enjoyed a relatively successful transfer window this summer.

Unai Emery added six players to his ranks, however, William Saliba will have to wait until next season to get his chance in the Gunners side.

Arsenal brought in Saliba, along with Gabriel Martinelli, Dani Ceballos, Nicolas Pepe, Kieran Tierney and David Luiz, with the majority of Gunners supporters buzzing with the club’s productivity in the window.

And according to the Evening Standard, the Gunners are now willing to cash in on Shkodran Mustafi and Mohamed Elneny before the window closes around Europe.

Many Arsenal supporters have taken to social media to urge the club to push through with their plans, with many claiming the funds received can go towards a deal for RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano in the future.

Arsenal are reportedly hoping to recoup the majority of the £35 million fee they paid Valencia in 2016 for Mustafi. If they can somehow manage to do that, along with getting an eight-figure fee for Elneny, then the funds could definitely be put towards a move for the RB Leipzig centre-back next year.

The Frenchman, who has a release clause set at £92 million, was a serious target for the Gunners in recent weeks, however, a move never materialised and the club opted for Luiz.

Despite signing both Luiz and Saliba over the summer, Emery will more than likely be interested in delving back into the market in January to bolster his defensive ranks even further.

And a potential £50 million brought in from the sales of both Mustafi and Elneny over the coming weeks could seriously help the Gunners bring in Upamecano, however, the club may have to sacrifice one of their exciting youngsters to the Bundesliga side as part of a deal.
