Everton agree big-money Iwobi deal – and Arsenal fans are delighted

Arsenal have agreed to sell Alex Iwobi to Everton for a fee believed to be between £35-40 million, according to BBC Sport’s David Ornstein, and some Gunners fans can’t believe their luck.

The Toffees have been on the lookout for a new winger, and it seems they will wrap up a deal for the Nigeria international.

Negotiations appear to have sped up this evening, and Everton will have until 7:00 pm to secure Iwobi’s signature if they have submitted a deal sheet requestion an extension on the transfer deadline.

These Arsenal fans, though, are more than happy with the business…

Iwobi’s departure will be a bittersweet move for all involved. He has given his all to Arsenal over the years, but with an offer like this on the table, it’s hardly surprising to see the club opt to sell him.

The winger had a good season under Unai Emery, but following the signing of Nicolas Pepe, it seems he has been deemed surplus to requirements following a blockbuster offer from Everton.

Although Arsenal don’t have time to add to their wide options after the proposed exit of Iwobi for around £40 million, it is too good an offer to turn down, and they’ve certainly got the better end of the deal here.
