Arsenal and Leeds fans react with Nketiah set for season-long loan

Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah looks set to join Championship giants Leeds United before the window closes.

According to the BBC’s David Ornstein, Leeds’ Director of Football, Victor Orta, has persuaded the Gunners to allow the youngster to head to Elland Road for the upcoming campaign.

The 20-year-old has featured on numerous occasions in Arsenal’s pre-season fixtures, scoring in the wins over Bayern Munich and Fiorentina.

And the news appears to have gone down well with supporters from both sides, who have taken to social media to share their delight.

A move to Elland Road appears, on paper, to be the best move for the talented forward.

The Whites are currently short of options upfront following Kemar Roofe’s departure, so Nketiah will be handed regular game time in Yorkshire.

The chance to work under Marcelo Bielsa will also have played a massive part in the decision. Bielsa signed Arsenal’s club-record signing, Nicolas Pepe, for Lille in 2017, and is well known for his development of bright young prospects.

If the striker can help the Whites back to the Premier League, he’d become an instant Leeds legend and would also stake his claim to break into Arsenal’s first-team for the 2020/21 campaign.

An exciting season ahead for the forward.
