Can Arsenal push back into the top four?

Can Arsenal push back into the top four?

After heartbreak in the Europa League final against their London rivals Chelsea, Arsenal missed out on the opportunity play Champions League football for the 2019/20 season, meaning it will once again be their ambition to break into the top four.

Unai Emery’s side are said to be working on a limited transfer budget this summer and after missing out on a place in Europe’s elite competition, it comes as no surprise. Missing out on a cash injection of that magnitude means that the club will have to be increasingly wary about who they bring in over the summer and who they perhaps move on.

If Arsenal want to stand any chance of finding a way back into the top four, they must ensure that they keep hold of both Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, both will be instrumental in their chances if they are to secure Champions League qualification.

Both of the two forwards have been linked with moves away from the club since the end of last season and despite being two of Arsenal’s most valuable players, the Gunners simply cannot afford to lose them given the small budget that they would be working with to try and replace them.

Emery has finally found a way to get both players in the same team and firing on all cylinders, so it would be considered a huge loss to see one of the pair of them depart London this summer.

The uncertainty that surrounds both Chelsea and Manchester United heading into the new campaign opens up a brilliant opportunity for Arsenal to try and find a way back into the top four.

Both of their rivals still boast a brilliant squad, but the inexperienced managers in both dugouts means there is a certain level of the unknown when discussing both clubs as potential top-four challengers.

Frank Lampard and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will both be challenged to finish inside the top four, but will they be up for it when the pressure is on during the second half of the season? Nobody really knows what to expect, so Arsenal supporters may fancy looking into some mobile betting apps to back the Gunners.

The other route that Arsenal can take is the Europa League again and try to go one better this time around. Winning the tournament will secure qualification into the Champions League for the 2020/21 season and Emery has proven time and time again that he knows how to get the best out of his players in the competition.

Despite failing to impress in the final against Chelsea, Arsenal were a joy to watch in the Europa League as Emery’s experience in the competition guided them to the final, with crucial wins against the likes of Napoli along the way.

If you’re confident in Emery, you can find apps for betting on football at bettingapps.org and back the Gunners to break into the top four next season.

Arsenal have certainly shown the right ambition in targeting moves for the likes of Celtic’s Kieran Tierney and Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha this summer, but whether either of those two players are plying their trade in London next season remains to be seen, what with the club’s limited budget.

It may come down to a matter of money and how much the Gunners are willing to risk in order to get back in with the Premier League’s big boys. With Crystal Palace asking for nearly £80 million for Zaha and Celtic standing firm for Tierney, it could be time for Arsenal to take the plunge and spend big in an attempt to force their way back into the big time, or they face losing some of their own big names in the years to come.
