Midfielder Joe Willock has shone in almost every pre-season game for the Gunners.
The 19-year-old has featured heavily under Unai Emery, scoring in the 3-0 win over Fiorentina in the club’s tour of the US.

And many Gunners fans now think the player should be handed the opportunity to start against Newcastle United in the club’s Premier League curtain-raiser this Sunday.

There’s no doubting Willock is certainly in with a chance of getting the nod on Sunday. He’s caught the eye with his composure on the ball, excellent vision and energetic performances.
The teenager has been outstanding in pre-season and has shown maturity beyond his years against the likes of Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
However, with Willock, Granit Xhaka, Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira all more than likely battling it out for two starting places, Emery may opt for experienced heads in the opener.
Personally, we, like the majority of Gunners fans, think the Englishman should be given the chance to shine at St James’ Park, which would then give the teenager the opportunity to cement a regular starting spot as the season unfolds.
