Unai Emery is pushing Arsenal to complete a deal for Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira – but should the Spaniard be prioritising other areas?
According to Tuttosport, cited by Sports Witness, Emery is desperate to land the German ahead of the new season, with a move proving to be complex.

The report suggests that a potential deal to London for the experienced midfielder all depends on whether or not he can mutually terminate his current deal with Juventus.
The Serie A champions have been desperate to get the 32-year-old off their books all summer, with Wolves also tracking the player alongside Arsenal.

A move for Khedira could turn out to be a smart piece of business. The former Real Madrid man has plenty of experience at the highest level, and that would only help the current crop of Arsenal youngsters blossom over the coming years.
However, Emery is also in desperate need of immediate defensive reinforcements, after loaning new signing William Saliba back to Saint-Etienne.
A move for left-back Kieran Tierney from Celtic appears to be close, but another centre-back signing is a must for the Gunners.
Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi could both leave the Emirates this month, which would leave the Gunners extremely short at the back.
Most fans wouldn’t complain if a deal goes through for the German, however, if Arsenal have to choose over a defender or Khedira, the priority should certainly lie at the back.
