Manchester United are reportedly looking at a move for Arsenal target Daniele Rugani before the window shuts, but could it actually be a good idea for the Gunners to let the Red Devils sign him?
According to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, cited by Sports Witness, United are looking at alternative defensive targets following Eric Bailly’s recent injury, with Rugani named as a possible option.
Arsenal themselves have been heavily tipped with a move for the Italian before the window shuts, with Juventus turning down a two-year loan proposal by the Gunners earlier this week.

At first glance, a move for Rugani by the Gunners looks a sensible move. The 25-year-old has experience in Italy of playing for a big side and would only cost Arsenal a relatively cheap loan fee for his services.
However, the defender has failed to nail down a regular starting spot for Juventus in recent years and appears to have struggled as a result of being left out of the side in previous seasons.
Rugani made just 20 appearances in all competitions last season and worried fans in Turin with his inconsistent displays.
The towering defender doesn’t appear to possess the leadership qualities Arsenal fans have been calling out for and could end up just papering over the cracks for a short period of time.
Arsenal are in desperate need of immediate centre-back signings, however, it could actually turn out to be a smart move by the Gunners if they allowed the Red Devils to take the lead in the race to land Rugani.
It would then give Arsenal officials the chance to delve back into the market for another central defensive target, with just a week left in the current window.
