# Arsenal fans have every right to be excited as the club confirm Pepe’s arrival

Arsenal have finally confirmed a deal to sign Nicolas Pepe from Lille in a stunning move from the club.

The club took to social media to tease supporters before [officially unveiling](https://twitter.com/Arsenal/status/1156949726249570304) the Ivorian as a Gunner.

Pepe has got Arsenal fans dreaming once again and it’s pretty clear to see from those supporters on Twitter that he’s going to be a firm favourite.

Well, Arsenal have certainly delivered with this deal.

For all the uncertainty and animosity aimed at the board, this deal puts all that to rest and then some.

The club were heading towards a summer of despair with claims of a limited transfer budget, but they have gone above and beyond to smash their club-record fee to bring in Pepe.

He arrives after an incredible season in Ligue 1 and if he can hit the ground running alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, Arsenal’s front three could rival the very best in the league.

Beating the likes of Napoli, Manchester United and even Liverpool to a deal proves that the club can still mix it with the best in Europe and fans should take hope from that going forward.
