Arsenal allowing Shkodran Mustafi to leave the club is a move that makes total sense.
The Gunners’ centre-back has been linked with an exit this summer, with L’Équipe claiming Monaco want to sign him.
Mustafi is valued at €30 million, which is an amount the Ligue 1 side look willing to pay.
Although Arsenal aren’t particularly well-stocked at centre-back, they should move the German on this summer.
The 27-year-old has become an increasingly divisive figure since joining from Valencia in 2016.
Although he has the ability to throw in good performances, he lacks consistency and has the potential to produce error-strewn performances.
Mustafi has shown enough by now to prove that he isn’t good enough for Arsenal and having him in the squad is more likely to hamper the Gunners’ progress rather than benefit it.
The north Londoners would likely have to look to a replacement swiftly, however, considering the end of the transfer window is edging closer.
