Arsenal open Guendouzi contract talks – good news for the Gunners?

Arsenal have reportedly opened contract talks with Matteo Guendouzi, which can only be good news for the club.

According to Soccer Link, the 20-year-old is in the process of sorting a new deal at the Emirates.

Guendouzi’s current Arsenal contract runs until the summer of 2022, but the Gunners are aiming to extend his stay in north London.

The youngster enjoyed an impressive first season with the Gunners, showing maturity and quality in the middle of the park, making 48 appearances in total.

News of Guendouzi potentially signing on the dotted line has to be seen as a positive, given his potential.

While parts of his game still remain raw, and poor performances may be thrown in from time to time, he will likely mature into a key man for Arsenal.

Offering an extension this soon is testament to how much Guendouzi has impressed in a Gunners shirt and this is hopefully only the start.
