# West Ham make loan enquiry for Traore – should Arsenal firm up their interest?

West Ham have reportedly approached Lyon over the possibility of taking winger Bertrand Traore on loan with a view to a permanent move – but should Arsenal firm up their interest?

According to [TEAMtalk](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/exclusive-west-ham-enquire-about-loan-deal-for-lyon-hitman), the Hammers have asked about signing the 23-year-old, with the report crediting Arsenal and Tottenham with an interest in the powerful winger.

Traore has been involved in 41 goals during his 91 appearances in Ligue 1, scoring 29 and providing 12 assists.

The winger would certainly fit the bill of bringing plenty of creativity and flair to the Emirates Stadium, with the former Chelsea youngster also having Champions League experience under his belt.

However, with Arsenal seemingly edging towards a big-money deal for Lille star Nicolas Pepe, Unai Emery may feel that he now has all bases covered in attack.

If a move for Pepe falls through, the Gunners could well be tempted into making a move for Traore, however, most Arsenal fans will be hoping that the Ivorian completes a £72 million move to the Emirates before the window shuts.
