VfL Wolfsburg midfielder Xaver Schlager has labelled Arsenal as his ‘dream club’ – but does the Austria international have the qualities needed to play for the Gunners one day?
The 21-year-old recently completed a move to Wolfsburg after starring for Red Bull Salzburg in his native country.
Schlager made 85 appearances in the previous two campaigns for Salzburg, with some consistent performances catching Wolfsburg’s eye, with the Bundesliga side paying £10.8 million for his services.
And talking to German outlet Kicker, cited by The Boot Room, Schlager confirmed his intentions to move to the Emirates in the future.
I’ve been a fan of Arsenal since I was a kid, that’s my dream club and it’s my dream to play there.

Schlager is certainly one to watch out for in the coming years, especially following his latest comments.
The central midfielder is strong, good on the ball and has a real eye for goal, similar qualities to former midfielder Aaron Ramsey who left for Juventus this summer.
Schlager looks set to be a future star in Europe and is already an established professional during his short career.
If he continues to impress with his new side, the Gunners may well decide to launch a move for the Austrian knowing the player would jump at the chance to move to London.
