# Winners and Losers in Arsenal’s proposed deal for William Saliba

Arsenal look set to finally complete the signing of highly-rated Saint Etienne defender William Saliba in the coming days.

The 18-year-old, who was also wanted by Tottenham, looks set to make the move to the Emirates in a deal worth £28 million before returning back to Saint Etienne for the upcoming season.

Saliba enjoyed an impressive breakthrough campaign in France last year which has resulted in Arsenal’s interest, with the teenager showing maturity beyond his years in his 16 Ligue 1 appearances.

The big-money move shows some serious intent by the Gunners, with Unai Emery desperate to find a long-term solution to his defensive problems.

Emery also looks set to add to his squad with some immediate signings, with the window shutting in just over two weeks time.
