Arsenal are thought to be close to announcing deals for both Dani Ceballos and William Saliba – but is it two good pieces of business by boss Unai Emery?
According to a report from talkSPORT, Ceballos is undergoing a medical in London ahead of a proposed season-long loan, while Saliba is close to finalising a permanent move before returning back to Saint Etienne for the upcoming season.
The pair were wanted by rivals Tottenham, however, it looks as if Emery has pipped Mauricio Pochettino to both players.
Starting with Ceballos. A move for the Real Madrid midfielder appears to be a shrewd piece of business by the Gunners.
The 22-year-old, who will be looking to impress his parent club ahead of a Bernabeu return, will get regular game time at the Emirates and looks set to be the replacement for Aaron Ramsey Arsenal fans have been calling out for.
Ceballos is technically brilliant, has a wide range of passing and a real eye for goal, three attributes which could see him become a fan favourite in London.
Meanwhile, Saliba looks set to be a smart signing for the future. The 18-year-old centre-back showed maturity beyond his years for Saint Etienne during his breakthrough season in France.
With another year of senior experience back in Ligue 1, the teenager could then be ready to return to the Emirates and establish himself as the dominant defender Arsenal have been desperate for.
Emery still looks set to be busy in terms of further incomings, but securing the services of both Ceballos and Saliba will come as a welcome relief to all Gunners fans.
