Arsenal have reportedly made a late attempt to sign Lille winger Nicolas Pepe – but would it be a good move by the Gunners?
According to Football Insider, Arsenal are looking to snatch the Ivorian away from Premier League rivals Manchester United, who have already agreed on terms with the Ivorian ahead of a proposed five-year deal.
However, the report suggests that the Gunners are confident they can still do a deal with Lille for the 24-year-old, who was a standout performer last season in Ligue 1.

Pepe scored 23 times for his current club last season, 22 of his strikes coming in Ligue 1, with Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe the only player to score more than the Ivory Coast international.
If the forward makes the move to the Emirates, he would more than likely line up in a front three alongside Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, leaving the Gunners with one of the best-attacking line ups in Europe.
Pepe would bring plenty of pace, flair and goalscoring ability to London, something Unai Emery and Arsenal fans would gladly welcome.
It remains to be seen as to how true the recent reports are, however, if the Gunners are preparing a late move, it could turn out to be an interesting couple of weeks.
